Three suspended for violation of drug policy

The NFL has officially handed down suspensions to three players for violating the league's policy on performance-enhancing substances.

Redskins teammates OT Trent Williams and TE Fred Davis each will miss the final four regular-season games of the year, while Seahawks rookie OG John Moffitt will serve his suspension while on the injured-reserve list.

Williams and Davis failed drug tests at the start of training camp, following the four-month NFL lockout. According to the Washington Post, they received no punishment for failing those tests, as the league gave a 30-day grace period to players. However, both players then failed an additional test during the season for recreational drugs — believed to be marijuana, according to the newspaper — resulting in the suspensions.

Moffitt, who is on I.R., will not receive his salary for the final four weeks of the regular season, nor will Williams or Davis.
