The UFC seems to have officially gone into Don't Give a Shit mode with it's TUF finale this weekend. No open workout, no press conference. Things with Spike have gotten so bad that those wanting to see UFC 140 prelims will have to dust off the ol rabbit ears and try to find the ION channel. So there's probably not much support from them either. Dana White isn't even breaking big fight news like he normally is. Here's Chael implying what the future holds for him and whoever wins the coach fight this Saturday:
"I have no fight with Mark Munoz. My next fight will be based on, uh...I don't know how much I can say, but I'll be watching the TV Saturday night, put it that way."
This all fits in with news we heard following UFC 139 that Anderson Silva would be out until next June. It also gives the Mayhem / Bisping fight some context - instead of just being a fight between two middle of the pack 185ers, it's now a chance to fight for #1 contendership. Kinda cool, although lately it seems like the UFC is risking a lot of their big money fights (Chael / Andy, Rashad / Bones) in the name of keeping guys busy. After a year where the biggest fan complaint has been the big fights never materializing, perhaps that's not the best gameplan?
