Steelers sign LB Ivy from practice squad

The Steelers signed LB Mortty Ivy from their practice squad and waived rookie DE Corbin Bryant.

Ivy was an undrafted free agent originally signed by the Panthers in 2009. He has not played in an NFL game.

Bryant, an undrafted rookie out of Northwestern, was signed off the practice squad before last week's game against the Cardinals. He was active but did not record any stats.

The way we see it

The Steelers likely want an extra linebacker for their Week Eight game against the pass-happy Patriots, which would explain the move.
