ESPN yanks MNF intro after controversial comments

Viewers will not hear Hank Williams Jr.'s "Are you ready for some football?" before Monday night's Colts-Buccaneers game after the singer's controversial comments on Fox News.

On the network's show "Fox & Friends," Williams said that President Barack Obama's golf outing with House Speaker John Boehner would "be like Hitler playing golf with (Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin) Netanyahu." Williams said, "They're the enemy," when referring to Obama and Vice President Joe Biden.

ESPN released the following statement about Williams' comments:

"While Hank Williams, Jr. is not an ESPN employee, we recognize that he is closely linked to our company through the open to Monday Night Football. We are extremely disappointed with his comments, and as a result we have decided to pull the open from tonight’s telecast.”
