Titans announce proposed improvemnts to LP Field

The Titans unveiled a proposed $25 million improvement plan for LP Field Wednesday, which would include a video board four times its current size and enhanced sound system with 800 additional speakers.

The proposals still have to be approved by the Metro Sports Authority and Metro Council, but would not require public financing. Collecting additional user fees, which are already being collected by the Titans, would pay for the improvements.

The project, if approved, would begin in February and is scheduled to be completed in time for the 2012 season.

In addition to the video board and sound system, the improvements would add elevators to take patrons to the upper deck, convert storage area to restaurant and entertainment areas, build ribbon video boards along the east and west sides of the stadium, create a new video control room and various other infrastructure improvements.
