I know kickers are usually an afterthought, but who do you believe is the most valuable over the course of the rest of the season — Sebastian Janikowski (Seabass), Billy Cundiff or Nick Novak?

CJ via email

No position is an afterthought, but I understand what you're saying. I like Seabass and how strong he is. He's back and healthy, and the Raiders are winning and moving the ball.

I have a huge game this week and need your help. I have three candidates for WR1 this week: Victor Cruz, Larry Fitzgerald and Santonio Holmes. Who would you go with? Then, at my flex position, I'm torn between Cruz, Holmes, Fitzgerald, Fred Davis or Ben Tate. If you can help provide some perspective, I'd greatly appreciate it. Thank you for your time and advice.

Vic via email

It's risky, but I like Holmes and Fitzgerald. Cruz has upside and talent, but Holmes has a great matchup and I wouldn't bench Fitzgerald, as I still believe Fitz has better fantasy days to come.

Touch choice here. Which one of the four would you leave on the bench this week? Fred Jackson, Matt Forté, Darren Sproles or Willis McGahee? 12 team PPR format six points per touchdown and one pt per 10 rushing yards, 20 receiving yards, or 25 return yards. Thanks for any help.

Matt via email

Forté has great history against the Lions, McGahee's red-hot and has a nice matchup and the Cowboys will struggle with Fred Jackson. Sproles is sharing time with two other backs and has a great opportunity, but I would go hard with the three studs right now. I say "stud" even with McGahee, based on his play all season. If you have to bench any one of them, I'd say Jackson based on the matchup, but McGahee if you want the return yardage.

QB question: I have Tim Tebow and I'm wondering if I should start him over Ben Roethlisberger this week?

Ramon via email

Tough call, but I would go with Big Ben this week, as he's starting to find his way with WR Antonio Brown. Tebow has so much upside, but he's also a higher risk.

Peyton Hillis, Brandon Jacobs or Roy Helu? I have LeSean McCoy, just looking to see who I should put in as my second.

Ashley via email

Hillis is out, Jacobs is going to carry the load again and Helu is going to start. If you want to play it safe, go with Jacobs, but he has a low ceiling against the Niners as he's not a receiving back and that's one of the 49ers' weaknesses he can't exploit. If you need big points, Helu has upside and the Dolphins' run defense is susceptible to pass-catching backs. Helu can catch, Jacobs can't. Go with Helu, but realize there is risk there.

Who's a better backup QB, Alex Smith or Andy Dalton? Thanks for all the help.

Dan via email

Andy Dalton is, right now. I'm still holding out hope the 49ers' offense begins to show improvement in the passing game, but until RB Frank Gore slows down, I think they're content. However, if Gore does slow down, it'll be interesting to see what happens. Regardless, I'd go with Dalton for now.

I was offered WR Mike Williams and RB Willis McGahee for WR Vincent Jackson. Is that a good deal? I'm skeptical about Denver's offense. On the other hand, Rivers and V-Jax have been inconsistent.

nohcanbe via email

If you need a running back who's a starter, I like McGahee, but I'm not a fan of Williams. If you can do it, ask the other owner to upgrade Williams as he's been average to mediocre this year. Someone like a Deion Branch-type receiver. McGahee is the Broncos' offense with Tebow, so he'll see most of the touches.

For this coming week I'm in a predicament. I have Michael Turner and Maurice Jones-Drew as my starters. I also have LeGarrette Blount and DeMarco Murray who should I start in my flex position? For my wide receiver I have Greg Jennings and for my other slot who should I put in, Anquan Boldin or Brandon Marshall. Thanks, doc.

Daniel via email

I would say Murray because the Bucs have given Blount only 23 total rush attempts in his last two games. He could do so much more if his touches increase, but Murray is going to carry the load again and is playing on an incredible level right now. As to your WR question, you can't go wrong with either, but I like the way QB Matt Moore is doing everything he can to get Marshall the ball, and he has a solid matchup this week against a Redskins team trying to regroup.

So I usually talk to you on Twitter, but this week my problem is more than 140 characters. Pick one: Eli or Tebow? Then pick one: Sidney Rice, Eric Decker or do I take a gamble on Laurent Robinson? And last, do I start Brandon Pettigrew against the Bears or Jake Ballard (who's on fire) against 49ers? Only thing I'm worried about Pettigrew is he has the easier matchup but Stafford throws the ball to their other TE a lot too.

Moe via email

At receiver go with Eric Decker, as Rice is going against the Ravens and I think they're going to eat QB Tarvaris Jackson up. I do like Robinson this week and would go with him before Decker. Take your pick with either Pettigrew or Ballard, but I like Ballard as he's been playing at a higher level. Pettigrew is losing TDs to Tony Scheffler but not receptions. Scheffler is a TD vulture.

I have my flex spot open still. Should I play Willis McGahee or Julio Jones? I know Julio probably has the better matchup against New Orleans but I'm not completely trusting him. What do you think?

Shane via email

I like McGahee here because of the opportunities in touches compared to Jones, and he's pretty hot right now and has a great matchup against a Chiefs team struggling against opposing backs.
