Bears elevate Trahan, waive Iwuh

The Bears waived/injured LB Brian Iwuh on Tuesday and promoted LB Patrick Trahan from the practice squad to take Iwuh's spot on the 53-man roster.

Iwuh, who leads the team in special-teams tackles with 14, suffered a hamstring injury in the Bears' loss to the Raiders on Sunday. He will revert to the team's injured reserve list when he clears waivers and an injury settlement could follow.

A sixth-year veteran, Iwuh appeared in 27 games since joining the Bears before last season and was credited with 32 tackles.

Trahan has spent the last two seasons on the practice squads of the Bears and Titans after entering the league as an undrafted free agent.

The way we see it

The Bears could miss Iwuh on special teams, and he was a decent backup at a position where the Bears don't have great depth.
