Bears players of the week

The Bears' offensive, defensive and special-teams players of the week their 24-20 win over the Lions on Sunday.

Offense: WR Earl Bennett

Bennett, who was targeted a team-high eight times, had a career day against the Lions. He led all receivers with seven catches for a career-high 104 yards, and all seven of his grabs resulted in first downs. QB Jay Cutler successfully looked his way on third down, completing four passes to Bennett for third-down conversions.

Defense: Bears MLB Brian Urlacher

Detroit surprisingly had a good day running the ball, gaining 134 on 27 carries, but Urlacher was credited with 17 tackles, and 10 of them came on gains of three yards or less. The 11th-year veteran combined with CB D.J. Moore for a key fourth-quarter sack, which resulted in a loss of nine yards, when both players blitzed.

Special teams: P Brad Maynard

He has not had one of his better seasons, but Maynard helped pin Detroit deep in its own territory twice. The Lions started drives inside of their own 10-yard line two times thanks to great punts by Maynard. He punted three times for 135 yards (45.0 avg.) with a net average of 38.7 in Chicago's win.
