Broncos sign DT Leonard after placing LB Robinson on I.R.

The Broncos have signed DT Louis Leonard to fill the roster spot vacated by LB Lee Robinson, who was placed on injured reserve with a hamstring injury.

Leonard joins the Broncos after being released by the Patriots on Dec. 22. He has 33 career tackles and is in his fourth NFL season.

Robinson had been promoted from the practice squad when LB Joe Mays (knee) was placed on I.R.

The way we see it

Leonard will provide depth on the Broncos defensive line. Denver has been forced to shift back-and-forth between 3-4 and 4-3 defensive schemes all season and was in need of another body up front.
