Mikey Garcia Scores Fifth-Round Knockout of Olivier Lontchi

Rising featherweight (126 pounds) Miguel Angel "Mikey" Garcia of Oxnard, Calif., earned his 24th victory without a loss and his 20th knockout with Saturday night's fifth round stoppage over Olivier Lontchi of Montreal, Quebec, Canada, at the Honda Center in Anaheim, Calif.

The 22-year-old Garcia dropped Lontchi to 18-2-2, with eight knockouts after flooring him twice in the fifth round. The first time Lontchi went down was from a straight right hand, but he rose to his feet and gamely fought back.

The second time, however, Lontchi absorbed about 10 unanswered punches along the ropes before again being nailed by an over hand right by Garcia. Lontchi failed to beat the 10-count of referee Jerry Cantu, and the fight was over.
