Former Super Bowl MVP Williams now coach at Grambling

Doug Williams, the MVP of Super Bowl XXII with the Redskins, is the new head coach at Grambling State University.

Williams had been coaching the Virginia Destroyers of the UFL, but decided to return to Grambling State because of his son. D.J. Williams has committed to Grambling State after having played at Tampa (Fla.) Catholic High School and Hargrave (Va.) Military Academy.

"I was looking forward to working with the Destroyers, but this is a great opportunity for me and it is very rare that a father gets to coach his son at the college football level," Williams said in a statement. "I went to school there, I coached there, and now I have a great opportunity to coach there again."

Williams coached at Grambling State from 1998-2003, succeeding College Hall of Fame coach Eddie Robinson. He also played at the school prior to his nine-year NFL career with the Buccaneers and Redskins.
