Packers-Bears matchup of the day: Wednesday

Here's a look at a key matchup heading into Sunday's Week Three battle between the Packers and Bears.

Packers' interior offensive linemen vs. Bears DT Henry Melton

Which Melton will the Bears get on Sunday?

He was a disruptive force vs. the Falcons in Week One, making two sacks and recording seven quarterback hits. He showed an explosive burst and was relentless getting after Matt Ryan.

However, Chicago's starting three-technique was a non-factor in Week Two. Melton didn't have a tackle, a sack or a QB hit. Against New Orleans' guard duo — one of the league's best — and former Bear Olin Kreutz, now the Saints' starting center, Melton was kept quiet.

Chicago needs him to make more of an impact vs. Green Bay, as he'll be matched up against a solid, blue-collar group of interior offensive linemen. OLG T.J. Lang is off to a fine start replacing offseason departure Daryn Colledge, and C Scott Wells and ORG Josh Sitton are two of the NFC's best at their respective positions. Wells and Sitton have very similar styles. They're smart, tough and play with good balance and leverage.

Melton has yet to prove that he can make a difference against top competition. He has great burst off the line and has shown he can be dominant against average linemen, but Green Bay's interior has been very good. Melton will be challenged to raise his level of play and be the interior pass-rush complement to DE Julius Peppers that the Bears need.
