Patriots CB Kyle Arrington went from a 14-game starter in 2010 to the team's fourth corner this season. He still is finding ways on to the field, via special teams, nickel and dime packages and even as a defensive end. Arrington saw some extra time in the secondary in Week Two against the Chargers' passing attack, but was beaten on a couple plays by Chargers WR Vincent Jackson.
The way we hear it, Arrington is a smart, humble player and while he might not be happy that he's not starting, he will handle it well in his other roles. Arrington was undrafted and really came out of nowhere, working his way up through the practice squad. He has an interception and two passes defensed to go along with eight tackles this season. He doesn't have the size Bill Belichick wants in his corners anymore, but Arrington's role is valued, considering the team signed him to a two-year extension. He is skilled on special teams and against the run, not to mention the wrinkle he provides on defense when he lines up at defensive end, but the Patriots are in better position with Arrington as their fourth corner, not as a starter.
