The Lions hired Joe Kelleher as the team's BLESTO scout on Friday.
Kelleher interned with the Lions' football operations department in 2008. He worked most recently as a scouting assistant for National Football Scouting and the National Invitational Camp (NFL Combine).
Kelleher was an offensive tackle and tight end for the Butler Bulldogs football team.
The team announced that Dennis Gentry, who had been with the team since 2001, was not retained.
