Williams' absence concerning to Redskins

With NFL coaches unable to contact their players during a lockout, the Redskins' staff has to be a little worried, we hear, that OLT Trent Williams has been a no-show at player-organized workouts. Williams has chosen to work out on his own, more than 1,200 miles away in Oklahoma, while his teammates are on the field in northern Virginia. Williams told a local radio station he doesn't see his absence as being a big deal, but team observers believe that the knock on him coming out of college — that his work ethic was less than stellar — might be showing itself in this case. Williams insists that's not the case and that he is getting in quality conditioning on his own. What he won't get back home is camaraderie and cohesion with his teammates, even if the player-organized workouts will have a questionable effect on the regular season. Some think Williams can become a premiere left tackle, but he is coming off a somewhat uneven rookie season.
