Rumors which circulated concerning a potential comeback fight between former world champions Ricky Hatton and Golden Boy Promotions President, Oscar De La Hoya (pictured at right, center), are unfounded, according to De La Hoya.

The 32-year-old Hatton (45-2, 32 knockouts) has not been in the ring since May of 2009, when he was stopped in the second-round by eight-division titlist and present WBO welterweight (147 pounds) and WBC junior middleweight (154 pounds) king Manny Pacquiao (52-3-2, 38 KOs) in a junior welterweight (140 pounds) clash. The 37-year-old De La Hoya (39-6, 30 KOs) was last in the ring for an eighth-round stoppage loss to Pacquiao in December of 2008 welterweight (147 pounds) bout.

De La Hoya spoke to FanHouse about the situation.
