ESPN's Adam Schefter reports that QB Marc Bulger has decided to retire.
The decision is no surprise, as it was rumored during the offseason that Bulger, who spent his first nine seasons with the Rams before serving as Joe Flacco's backup in Baltimore last season, might be leaning toward retirement.
Bulger, 34, was said be on the radar of some QB-needy teams but Schefter says that, at this point in his life, he was more interested in focusing on his charitable foundation.
The West Virginia product had his best years in St. Louis under Mike Martz, including his career season in 2006, when he threw for 4,301 yards with 24 TD passes and eight interceptions.
He finishes his career as a 62.1 percent passer with 22,814 yards, 122 TDs, and 93 interceptions. He also was sacked 254 times in 96 career games.
