Round 1: They feel each other out early on as the crowd chant's Cane's nickname -- 'Banha' -- which I'm told means, simply, 'lard.' Cane times Nedkov's approach well and lands a sharp left, then spins away from any potential takedown scenario. Nedkov would like to get in close, but Cane's height and reach is making that difficult early on. Nedkov throws out a big looping right, and seems almost surprised when it lands squarely. Cane tries a head kick and slips, nearly giving Nedkov a chance to get him down. A stinging left from Cane hurts Nedkov. Cane's reluctant to follow up too heavily, and Nedkov comes back with a right. Low kick from Cane and Nedkov is on the mat briefly. Nedkov's nose looks to be smashed and bloodied. Another looping right followed by a left from Nedkov puts Cane in trouble. He's turned his back and Nedkov smells the finish. This placed just got quiet. He charges in and hammers Cane with a flurry that puts him down. A few more punches from the Bulgarian and it's over. Boos from the Brazilian crowd greet Nedkov at first, then a polite clap. Then more boos when Nedkov puts his hand to his ear, goading them.
