Report: Jaguars land OLB Roth

Matt Roth is no longer a free agent, as the outside linebacker signed a one-year, $3 million deal with the Jaguars, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter.

Roth started all 16 games in 2010 for the first time in his career and recorded 86 tackles and 3½ sacks for the Browns. The seventh-year veteran spent the first four seasons of his career with the Dolphins.

Roth is the third free-agent linebacker the Jaguars have signed this offseason, joining Clint Session and Paul Posluszny.

The way we see it

Roth won't start, but could improve a pass rush that sorely needs help off the edge. The Jaguars had the league's 28th-ranked defense last season, and have added three veteran linebackers to help in a division with high-octane offenses.
