Cardinals' Porter agrees to restructure contract

Cardinals brass gave Joey Porter an ulimatum: Restructure his deal or be cut. He chose wisely.

Porter will remain with the Cardinals after redoing his deal and lowering his salary to a more managable figure. It was first reported by PFW correspondent Kent Somers of the Arizona Republic.

The Cardinals have made waves with a couple of big moves on Thursday, trading for QB Kevin Kolb — and giving him an extension for $63 million, $21 million of it guaranteed — and signing OG Daryn Colledge to a deal worth $27.5 million.

Porter had widely been rumored to be cut, but the team apparently will give him another chance to make the roster after making 50 tackles and five sacks (his lowest sack total since 2003) last season.
