NFL Network reported Thursday morning that compensation requests from Vincent Jackson and Logan Mankins remain an obstacle to a new labor agreement.
CBSSports.com's Mike Freeman reported Wednesday evening that Jackson's and Mankins' representatives were requesting $10 million for each player. Sports Illustrated's Jim Trotter also reported that a source told him "Jackson's camp indeed is seeking to have his situation addressed."
Both players are plaintiffs in the Brady case and received the franchise tag this offseason. Mankins sat out the first eight games of the 2010 season while Jackson didn't return until Week 12, as both wanted long-term contracts.
According to Trotter, the owners and players need to first settle the Brady antitrust case before approving the new Collective Bargaining Agreement, and the requests for compensation from Mankins and Jackson remains an issue.
