Report: Leinart staying in Houston

Less than 24 hours after a report sent him to Seattle, QB Matt Leinart will remain in Houston, agreeing to a deal with the Texans.

PFW correspondent and Houston Chronicle writer John McClain reported that Leinart decided he wanted to stay with the Texans. According to McClain, Leinart wanted to sign with a team that would give him a chance to start, and after the Seahawks agreed to sign Tarvaris Jackson, he decided to re-sign with Houston.

Leinart refuted the report that he had agreed to a deal with Seattle on Tuesday evening, saying on his Twitter page that he was still "weighing the options."

Leinart did not play last season, his first as a Texan. He won the Heisman Trophy in 2004 and was a first-round pick of the Cardinals, but has had a disappointing career so far in the NFL.
